Quartier de demain - Pessac (lost competition)
Within the framework of the international Quartiers de Demain consultation initiated by the President of the French Republic, I worked on the Saige neighborhood in Pessac as part of the team led by 51N4E, in collaboration with Établissement Lafayette. My contribution focused on public space strategies and resident-centered transformation processes accompanying the refurbishment of Tower 8 and the creation of a green corridor reconnecting the neighborhood to the city and university campus.I developed visual and spatial tools to facilitate co-creation, supporting dialogue between project stakeholders and inhabitants, and explored temporary and transitional occupation strategies to activate ground floors and open spaces. Through precise, low-cost interventions and an attention to what already exists, the work aimed to intensify everyday uses, clarify public spaces, and strengthen shared life without disrupting the neighborhood’s identity. The project demonstrates how modest, well-calibrated actions can foster ecological transition, social interaction, and long-term urban transformation.
